How
Will I Know How Well My Students
Are Progressing Toward Achieving the Standards?
There are increasing numbers of assessment packages available
nationally to help teachers design proficiency-based, standards-based
assessment. Three you may want to watch for:
Performance
Assessment Units (ACTFL)
The new assessment package that has been under development and
piloting for the past several years at ACTFL is nearing completion.
Originally entitled PAU’s or Performance Assessment Units, they will be
retitled to reflect their roots in the learning-scenario approach to
language teaching and learning. These scenarios combine teaching and
assessment and enable teachers to use the same materials effectively with
a wide range of language abilities and knowledge in their students.
Watch for news at this site
about their availability!
