About
the World
Language Center
EdGate
welcome you
to the World Language Center!
We hope this site becomes an often-used tool to help you as you
help students become proficient in world languages. We
have evaluated hundreds of resources to find the ones most useful
for you and will continue to
verify and update
the information in the World Language Center.
A few suggestions for using
the WLC:
After
you’ve checked out a section or subsection, like French, or
the Standards Connection,
bookmark the page so it
is easily available
to you;
The
site utilizes frames for all external links. You can close the frame you’re looking at and the
previous page will be right there, instead of having to use the back
button all the time;
So that we
continue to improve the look and information found on the WLC, let us know if you have
trouble displaying pages, want to include a
link we do not have or any other feedback.

The World Language Center is a content channel
hosted and managed by EdGate.
EdGate was founded by a group of educators frustrated with the lack of
integration between the Internet,
on-line tools and state standards.
Over the past three years, this company has evolved from an idea to a
national provider of aggregated content, web-based communication and
standards-based learning.
The EdGate tool set consists of:
-
Education
Gateways - the portal entrance to content and tools;
-
Curriculum Matrix -
standards-based database which provides lessons, assessments and
resources and lessons linked to relevant state standards;
-
SchoolNotes - a popular
personal Web publishing tool used by over 150,000 teachers to post
homework notes and communicate class information to parents.
