The Edge of Enchantment: Sovereignty and Ceremony in Huatulco, Mexico [Flash]
This online exhibit from the Smithsonian Museum of the American Indian, created from the research of Alicia Maria Gonzalez and the photography of Roberto Ysais, interrogates the importance of different places among the people of the Huatulco and Huamelula region in Mexico. This is an exhibit that does a fine job of evoking the power of place among the people of this region. The exhibit is also available in Spanish.

Museum of Spanish Colonial History   This New Mexico Museum has objects dating from the sixteenth century to the present, and the collections show religious and utilitarian artifacts from the Spanish colonial history of New Mexico and the world.

Institute of Texas Culture  A site dedicated to the diversity of Texas culture, including Mexican and Tejano.

Interactive Lesson on Civil Rights in Latin America   The game presents 500 years of Latin American history, blended and condensed into a non-linear format. It begins after the 1981 El Mozote massacre in El Salvador. 

Library of Iberian Resources Online  The Library of Iberian Resources Online (LIBRO) has collected the best scholarship about the peoples and nations of the Iberian peninsula from the fifth to the seventeenth centuries. The book list is principally drawn from recent, but out-of-print university press monographs and includes a number of basic texts and sources in translation. These are presented in full-text format and reproduce all the matter included in the original print version.

Tourist Offices Worldwide Directory This regularly updated list will help you find any of 1148 entries. There are no commercial listings. Use the Tourist Office sites for students to do research for oral presentations, and to plan an imaginary trip.

Cinco de Mayo (Grades 2 - 3) by Cheryl J. Cox, NM. In this WebQuest students gather information and present their understanding about the history of Cinco de Mayo. 

Cinco de Mayo WebQuest (Grade 3) by Juliet Mendez, Pioneer School, AR., this lesson integrates technology and research as students create a book on the history of Cinco de Mayo.

Dias de los Muertes  This site includes information on the Day of the Dead and Hispanic heroes.

Food for the Ancestors PBS site includes lesson plans for foods and for the Day of the Dead.

Holidays  You can learn more about Christmas holidays, fiestas, La Semana Santa or Holy Week, and other holidays in the Spanish speaking world.

Cesar Chavez: Quest for Social Justice (Grades 3 and up) by Alfredo Rodriguez. This website depicts the struggle of Chavez in winning rights and fair wages for the farm workers, and the role that the ‘teatro’ played in the struggle.

Take a Trip to Latin America (Grade 6 and up) by Sharon Hart, Deborah Burch, Melanie Cox and Cheryl Taylor at Bugg Elementary School in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Evita Perón:  Mistress to Madonna  WebQuest by Dawn A. Santiago-Murillo at Victor High School in Victor, NY. Students must prepare a report which persuades the "International Association of Women" to induct Evita Peron into their new Hall of Fame.

Day of the Dead WebQuest This step-by-step WebQuest created by Melanie Stella at Welborn Middle School in High Point, North Carolina includes a thoughtful Quest Sheet for processing different cultural outlooks on death. Add your own rubric.

Hispanic Cuisines  WebQuest by Richard Ladd of Ipswich High School this WebQuest links to restaurant, fast food and food sites, multiple links for five countries and simple instructions. You can add your own rubric.
