New Hampshire Curriculum Matrix Summary

High, Medium, Low Designations

Priority Determinations:

The information used to prioritize test items was taken from the New Hampshire Educational Improvement and Assessment Program, 2000-2001 Technical Report, dated January 22, 2002.  This report is available from the New Hampshire Department of Education, 101 Pleasant Street, Concord, NH 03301, and represents the most recent information available on state test design.

Under the New Hampshire Educational Improvement and Assessment Program, students are tested in English Language Arts in Grade 3, 6, and 10; in mathematics in grades 3, 6, and 10; and in science in grades 6 and 10.  Thus, there is no crosswalk to any test information on the matrix for grade 3 science.  The testing priorities and the overall priorities on the matrix reflect the priority in the testing grade; e.g. grades 3, 6, and 10 in English language arts and in mathematics; and grades 6 and 10 in science.

The priority of the item was determined by the total possible points for the item as found in the test design in the technical report noted above in paragraph one.  The higher the number of points possible for an item, the higher the priority assigned.   An item was marked low only if it was not tested.
