Assessments:
Language Arts: MSA (Reading) - Grades 3,4,5,6,7,8,10; HSA (English 1) - Grade 9
Math: MSA (Math) - Grades 3,4,5,6,7,8; HSA (Algebra/Data Analysis, Geometry) - Grade 9
Science: HSA (Biology) - Grade 9  Science tests for other grades will be phased in beginning in the spring of 2005
Social Studies: HSA (Government)- Grades 9

Maryland High School Assessments -MHSA

High school tests will be given in English I, government, algebra, geometry, and biology.  They were field-tested in 1999-2000 and 2000-01.  Students entering grade 9 in 2001 will be required to take the tests.

Assessment Data Used for Matrix

Grades 3, 5, and 8-  A review and analysis of Maryland Learner Outcomes and 1998 MSPAP Technical Report identified the number of measures for each learner outcome.

Graduation Requirements
