Climbing Mt. Everest
The Everest climbing season happens only in May -- after the winter's jet stream winds die down, and before summer monsoons send hurricane-force winds to the world's tallest peak. It's been 52 years since Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay became the first humans to summit Everest. Since then, more than 1400 people have successfully climbed the peak, and about 180 have died trying. Take advantage of the timing to check out the resources below about the jewel of the Himalayas.
