Welcome to
Educator Central. This section of the Career and
Technical Education Center is designed to meet
the specific needs of educators. While Career
and Technical Education is normally considered a
grade 9 though 12 subject, it is also incumbent
upon elementary and middle school teachers to meet the many state
subject standards that speak to learning about
careers in different fields.
The Educator Central section
contains the following:
Applied Academics Three initiatives--Applied
Academics, Contextual Learning, and Tech Prep
(Technical Preparation)--impact middle and high
school curriculum. All three encompass change
in the integration of curriculum and skill
acquisition for the student. All three are
addressed in this section.

the Law Career and
Technical Education has its roots in what was once called vocational
education. Those roots run deep in federal funding and legal
issues. Everything from the Carl D. Perkins Vocational Act to No
Child Left Behind affects these programs. Administrators, as well
as classroom teachers, need to be aware of the legal requirements
from their funding sources.
